Once again, masked individuals vandalize the Bulgarian cultural club "Ivan Mihaylov" in Bitola. Photos of the attack were shared on social networks. The Foreign Ministry described the act as a "politically sponsored, relentless campaign", dariknews.bg pointed out.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to a vandalism against a club of the Bulgarian community in Bitola. Deputy Minister Marin Raykov commented as follows:
We note with concern that an attack has once again been committed against one of the clubs of the Bulgarian community in the Republic of North Macedonia.
We view this act as a reflection of the politically sponsored, ongoing campaign against thousands of citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia who identify themselves as Macedonian Bulgarians.
We expect the official authorities in the neighboring country to react in accordance with the commitments outlined in the European Consensus of July 2022 and in response to the European aspirations of the majority of the society of the Republic of North Macedonia.
