The poet Kiril Kadiyski has died, announced Lyudmil Dimitrov, quoted by dariknews.bg.
"Without him it will be quieter, more boring, emptier - not only in literature. And this silence, boredom, emptiness has no one to fill, brighten, distract", writes Dimitrov.
Kiril Kadiyski is a Bulgarian poet, essayist, translator, diplomat. Kiril Kadiyski is among the most famous Bulgarian translators of poetry. He has translated into Bulgarian many French and Russian poets, including François Villon, Victor Hugo, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Stéphane Mallarmé, Arthur Rimbaud, Guillaume Apollinaire, Blaise Cendrars, Fyodor Tyutchev, Ivan Bunin, Alexander Blok, Maximilian Voloshin, Boris Pasternak and others. He has also translated almost the entire work of Moliere. His translations of Shakespeare's sonnets are also known.
His books have also been published in Spain, Italy, Greece, Serbia, Romania and the Republic of Macedonia. His poems have been translated into English, German, Polish, Slovak, Hungarian, Turkish, Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Finnish, Swedish and other languages. He is a participant in some of the most prestigious international forums of poets such as the Poetry Biennale in Liège, Belgium, the Struga Poetry Evenings, the International Poetry Festival in Trois-Rivières, Canada. Kadiyski is a founding member of the movement of Francophone poets Cap à l’Est.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, 02.09. at 11 a.m. at "Sveti sedmochislenitsi".
