The distinguished flutist Zeynep Kelesoglu and the respected pianist Gökhan Aybulus combined the richness of Turkish classical melodies and European music during their concert at the Military Club in Sofia, organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Turkey in Bulgaria.
“I sincerely thank both of them for accepting our invitation“, said at the beginning of the event, the Ambassador of Turkey to Bulgaria Mehmet Sait Uyanık and added: “Dear guests, the Sofia The Military Club holds a special place not only in Bulgarian history, but also in the shared historical memories of Turkey and Bulgaria. This hall is a witness to an important chapter in the life of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. During his service as military attaché in Sofia, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk attended a costume ball in this beautiful hall more than a century ago and interacted with the cultural and intellectual circles of Bulgaria during his rule in Sofia. Tonight, in the same hall where Atatürk once stood, we continue this tradition of cultural diplomacy. "Tonight we will enjoy the performances of our artists and pay tribute to the memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk," said Uyanık.
The performances combined Turkish classical melodies with European repertoire, reflecting the shared cultural space connecting the two countries.
