The persistence of Peevski and his clientele in DPS is a typical Bulgarian phenomenon. They are trying in Bulgarian to destroy a community, as other Bulgarians previously did with BZNS, SDS (I have a small personal contribution), BSP and others. There is no ethnic problem in DPS, but there are greedy people who want to control it completely in order to bully, in the words of the biggest bully, Delyan Peevski.
I regret that Yordan Tsonev, who is a very good deputy and budget manager, an intelligent person with whom I have a friendly relationship, pulled out the ethnic card. I know very well that he does not believe himself. He has been in the DPS for 25 years and has always been at the top of this party. It is not good for him to speak like that today for his own reasons, I do not judge him for them.
I want to say that the only ethnic problem in DPS is the Bulgarian drive towards destruction, takeover, disintegration and excessive greed without measure. In addition to DPS, Peevski wanted to take over GERB, BSP, as well as everyone who hangs out in the parliament, except "Vazrazhdane". This almost became a fact, but Borisov showed instinct and did not allow him to form a cabinet, and from there a complete anschluss of the state, which was in command during the assembly anyway, because Hristo Ivanov was sitting on his lap, and Kiki and Asen were looking at him with the true admiration of children who see Santa Claus for the first time.
Peevski is a phenomenon of the general impotence to create and the collective tribal tendency to create mythology out of fear and superstition.
Peevski is something like the legendary Urko from ShZO Pleven, the mention of which raised alarm in every private and commander, who immediately started doing pointless activities on and off the square to imitate work. I never got that person's name, I only remembered his nickname. He may have been a good commander of SHO Pleven, but that's what I remember from my barracks.
Peevski is a mythology that Dogan disenchanted with a few words. Which means the power is still with Dogan, as long as he can only act with words. Peevski is slowly disintegrating because he built a large network of dependent people at all levels - political, institutional and state. Especially in the power structures. When they are satisfied that he no longer has political power, they will let him go. Whatever incriminating material there is on them. Force and coercion have never been a lasting asset. The money too, because today it is there, tomorrow it is gone.
And Peevski's money is thanks to DPS. Without DPS he would be Mr Nobody.
Another question is why DPS made it the way it is, and Dogan pointed it out. It is good not to forget this issue, but now it is more important to remove Peevski from power. Then there will be time for reminiscences and intellectual exercises on the subject of where they went wrong. When we wrote about these issues while it was time, no one paid attention to us. Anyway.
The removal of Peevski from power will unblock the judiciary, the prosecutor's office, the State Department of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, KPCONPI and the power structures, which for the most part work for him now. Simply because there is no country and they work for whoever commands them best. A lot of people with businesses will take a break. Not that they are angels, but the manner of the chief squire was intolerable.
The whole political configuration will change, because in the last ten years he was one of its main pillars, and the "Change" instead of pushing him, he supported him further.
DPS will become a normal party with a normal weight of about 10% without the pretensions to govern the whole of Bulgaria with 40 MPs, Borisov will have a rest, because he will no longer be dependent on Peevski, which also means that he will not be able to squabble as he did before, and Bulgaria will begin to look for its model, outside the tyrannical presence of a man whose power was not proportional to his political weight.
Peevski no one and would never vote for anything if he appeared in elections without surplus value. He is strong because he is a DPS, has an arrogant character and the skills of a political schemer. DPS dropped out, now it will have to rely only on the last two. I think there is no chance in the long run.
Even if he takes control of the DPS apparatus, which he has set out to do, he will still have no chance. He was toxic, Dogan brought him down, and the Western embassies finished him off when they sent his letter against Dogan to their own Capital. I checked - this letter is not fake news. And it is not the first such letter.
I don't see who in the next parliament will want to do anything with Peevski, even if he is still the chairman of the fifth political force DPS (what will happen if he takes it over). I don't see his political future other than a personal survival deal.
His stubbornness today not to listen to what Dogan thinks and what people in the DPS think about him, I can only explain it as ambition and bad judgment - he still thinks he is the power, but the power left him on July 10 when Dogan asked him the resignation.
Peevski's desire to master DPS is completely understandable and natural, because he is an authentic leader. The formula of an honorary chairman with a substitute person obviously does not work, and in this I agree with Yordan Tsonev, who well developed this thesis today on BNR. The point is that Peevski tried to take all the power and failed. You failed. Whatever he does from here on out.
I think he is feigning his opponents with a new party to lull their attention and stay in the DPS, which means that the DPS will simply move to another party of the Bulgarian Turks, who will still have representation in the parliament unlike him. Still, I think it won't come to that.
Dogan's strategy of letting the party deal with him alone is good and healthy for DPS. The long silence before the verdict and the retreat after it show that he only wants the DPS to dispose of Peevski as a foreign body that is strong. For me personally, this political experiment is very interesting, because I know that Peevski has real power, a lot of money, institutional leverage and intelligence to crush his enemies. If the DPS people fight against him and defeat him, it will be a real success for democracy.
