World champion Max Verstappen may part ways with Red Bull before the end of the 2025 Formula 1 season. This is possible due to the early termination clause of the contract, which is otherwise until the end of 2028, and this clause can be activated by the pilot in the presence of certain circumstances, reports sportal.bg.
According to The Times newspaper, the most important condition for Max to be able to leave Red Bull early is that he is outside the top 3 in the drivers' standings at a certain point in the season. In almost all cases, this clause can be activated immediately after the end of the summer break and at the beginning of the second part of the season.
Max recently stated that he has no intention of leaving Red Bull and even in “an ideal world he would end his career with the team”, but speculation about his possible transfer to Mercedes or Aston Martin has not subsided.
The presence of this clause in Max's contract was confirmed first by Dr. Helmut Marko, and in Mexico by Christian Horner. He believes that everything is now in the hands of the Red Bull team, which must do “necessary to convince Verstappen to stay”.
