Levski won the Bulgarian Cup after a victory over Montana with 3:1 (25:22, 18:25, 25:18, 25:16) in the final, played at "Arena Burgas". The match lasted an hour and 55 minutes, and was played in front of the national coach Gianlorenzo Blenghini and his assistant Francesco Cadedu. Thus, Levski won another trophy after the championship title and the country's Super Cup. This is the first cup for Levski since 2014, BTA reports.
In the first game, the Montana team started better, leading 4:1, and then 8:5. "The Blues" scored three consecutive points and tied, and for the first time they led 12:11. Montana won the second set 25:18 after an ace from Vasily Molotkov's serve. In the second game Montana made 6 errors against 11 of the opponent.
Levski took a lead in the third set for 4:2 after an ace from Antov. At 7:3 Daniel Peev took a timeout for Montana and his team immediately reduced the difference to two points. A block by Stoil Palev from the "blues" brought the score to 10:5. At 18:13 for Levski Peev took another timeout to better organize his team. Vladimir Garkov made 20:13 for the "blues", with Balabanov from Montana suffering a slight injury, but remaining on the court. An ace by Palev from Levski followed and the lead became 8 points. Immediately after that Kaloyan Balabanov was replaced by Montana captain Georgi Elchinov. At 24:17 the "blues" received seven game balls, leading 2:1 after 25:18 and a service error by Kristiyan Aleksov. In the third game, Levski had a success rate of 59 percent in attack and made only one error.
In the fourth game, Todor Skrimov from Levski made another ace, and a blockade by the "blues" stopped an attack by Vasily Molotkov for 4:1, which forced Peev to take a break. Nikolay Nikolaev made an ace for Levski for 10:5. After a point by Livan Osoria on a counterattack for 12:6, Peev used his second break in the match. Strong performances in this part were made by Todor Skrimov, who was unstoppable in attack and on serve. Antov made another ace for 22:12, and the gap was already insurmountable. Levski led by 24:15. The top scorer for Levski in the match was Venislav Antov with 19 points. Todor Skrimov and Vladimir Garkov added 11 each for the winners. Vasily Molotkov scored 18 for Montana.
