An impressive-sized construction 3D printer from ICON can build two-story concrete buildings faster than its competitors. The development has already been used to build an eight-meter house located in Austin, Texas.

The Phoenix is said to be able to halve the cost of building houses compared to analog models like the Vulcan. 3D printing buildings in this case would be approximately $83 per square meter for wall systems or $266 per square meter including foundation and roof.

Phoenix's design includes a free-moving articulated arm that can be rotated in any direction, as well as a stabilization system to prevent the nozzle from swinging at the end of the arm. ICON says the Phoenix will save approximately $25,000 on the cost of building a classic home.

In addition, ICON announced the launch of Vitruvius, an artificial intelligence-based system capable of designing homes based on customers' desires and their budget. The company intends to realize this idea as well, and this is expected to happen by the end of 2024. See also the video on the subject.
