New software unlocks faster charging for Cybertruck - 1

Tesla Cybertruck owners boasted a new software update marked 2024.20.7. This update specifically targets charging performance, and initial reports are positive. The update appears to enable the Cybertruck to maintain higher power levels for longer during the charging process. This results in shorter charging times, with one owner able to increase his range by 147 miles (235 kilometers) in just 15 minutes, matching Tesla's promised 20% improvement.

However, a cloud of mystery hangs over the true potential of this update. The Cyberruck itself is built around an 800-volt architecture, leading some to believe that Tesla simply doesn't have compatible chargers. But even when using third-party 800-volt stations, tests show no significant improvement. This suggests that the problem is elsewhere in the pickup's boot system or possibly the software itself prior to this update.

Interesting information appeared during the update. Cybertruck's display now alerts users when charging is limited by the station's capabilities. This new feature fuels speculation that Tesla is gearing up for a major revamp of its V4 Supercharger network, potentially allowing them to run on 800-volt charging.
