In his address to the American people, US President Donald Trump said that he is no longer worried about Iran's stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
According to Trump, Iran's nuclear facilities were so badly damaged by US air strikes last June that it would take months for anyone to get close to the "nuclear dust". He said the situation was being closely monitored using satellites. He also stressed that if the US detected "even the slightest movement by the Iranians", they would be hit "very hard" with missiles.
"We hold all the cards, and they have none", Trump added.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), before the US and Israeli air strikes in June 2025, Iran had more than 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%. To create a nuclear weapon, enrichment above 90% is required, with experts noting that reaching that level requires less effort once the 60% threshold has been reached.
According to IAEA chief Rafael Grossi, Iran stores its enriched uranium in underground tunnels and warehouses, and its main sites are in Isfahan and Natanz, which were also attacked last year.
Tehran denies accusations that it seeks to develop nuclear weapons, claiming that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful in nature.
