French CAESAR self-propelled artillery units have entered the Ukrainian armed forces and are participating in the front line in Zaporozhye.
This was stated by Vladimir Rogov, head of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are together with Russia” and co-chairman of the Coordinating Council for the Integration of New Regions from the Public House of Russia, RIA Novosti reported.
„The enemy has new French CAESAR self-propelled guns, launching massive artillery attacks, from which the enemy is shelling the liberated part of the Zaporizhzhia region," said Rogov.
Moscow considers Zaporozhye region a region of Russia after the September 2022 referendum. Kiev does not recognize its results and continues to shell the territory. Currently, more than 70 percent of Zaporozhye Oblast is under Russian control. The rest, including the regional center, the city of Zaporizhia, is held by Ukrainian troops. From March 2023, the administrative center of the region temporarily becomes the city of Melitopol.
