Russia once again made threats to several countries that they will be involved in the war against Ukraine, including Bulgaria.
Military expert and reserve colonel Anatoly Matviychuk told mk.ru that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has become “toxic“ for European leaders and expects to be replaced in Kiev in a military coup within weeks this summer.
„Wherever he appears, he wants weapons. Moreover, he is drawing everyone into a confrontation with Russia. This applies especially to the countries of Eastern Europe – Hungary, Slovakia, as well as Bulgaria”, said Matviychuk.
Matviychuk, as well as former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, claim that Western countries want to get rid of Zelensky. “I think that already in the summer we will witness a radical change in the political system of Ukraine. I predict a military coup, after which Zaluzhny and the generals close to him will take power,” Matviychuk said.
His comments came amid reports that a man suspected of helping Russian intelligence prepare a possible attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had been arrested in Poland.
The Polish national, identified only as Pawel K., was tasked with “collecting and providing information to the military intelligence services of the Russian Federation, in particular helping Russian secret services plan a possible assassination attempt on a foreign national head, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky”, said a press release of the Polish Prosecutor's Office. Russia has repeatedly tried to eliminate Zelensky, as well as other high-ranking military and political figures in Kiev.
