Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Sirsky about the situation in the sector of the city of Kupyansk, the head of state said in his evening video address, reported Ukrinform.
"Today Commander-in-Chief Sirski delivered a report. As always, this is how the day begins. Not only for the Donetsk region, but also for the Kupyan district," Zelensky said. He noted that the Ukrainian military fighting there performed very effectively, and thanked everyone for their endurance.
"The southern directions. The Kursk operation. I am proud of all our people, every unit that stands its ground and gives Ukraine the opportunity to convince the world that our people must win. This is exactly what Ukraine is fighting for," added Zelensky. Yesterday at 2:30 p.m. Russian forces attempted to break through the Ukrainian defenses along the Kupyansk axis. Ukrainian forces repulsed four waves of Russian attacks, Ukrinform points out. Earlier today, France Press reported that Russian forces briefly managed to penetrate Kupyansk, but, according to the head of the municipal military administration, Andriy Besedin, they were subsequently "destroyed".
Odessa was again attacked with drones, the chairman of the Odesa regional military administration Oleg Kiper announced this evening in the "Telegram" application. A loud explosion echoed in the southwestern Ukrainian city. The sirens were activated at 21:18 (also Bulgarian time).
According to information on local channels in "Telegram" over 10 drones attack the Black Sea cities of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny. The Bulgarians in Odesa Region number over 150,000 people and are the third most numerous according to the official census in Ukraine in 2001. About 50-60 thousand Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions.
