Several army horses were galloping today in central London and have injured at least one person, informed local authorities, quoted by Reuters. Soldiers were called to help the police catch the animals, writes BTA.
Features on social media show a saddled white horse, apparently covered in blood, running through the streets alongside a black horse.
Newspaper "Telegraph" reported that the horses belonged to the Palace Cavalry, which is part of the British Army, and that the animals ran loose during training in the cavalry's ceremonial parade ground in central London.
"We know the number of horses currently at large in central London and are working with colleagues, including the army, to find them,” London police wrote in "X”.
Emergency medical services received a call at 8:25 a.m. local time (10:25 a.m. Bulgarian time) about a person thrown from a horse on the "Buckingham Palace" road, a spokesman for the service said, adding, that "the incident is still ongoing and we are working with emergency service partners”.
The horses are seen galloping along the "Aldwich" road. between London's historic financial center and the West End – the entertainment center of the capital, AP pointed out. The Metropolitan Police, which polices the financial district, said officers had restrained two horses near Limehouse, six kilometers east of central London, and were preparing to transport them to a veterinary clinic.
