The Israeli army announced that it had killed a commander of the radical Palestinian group "Islamic Jihad" with an air strike in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Ayman Zaarab was one of the top brigade commanders in the movement's Rafah city and was responsible for organizing the attack on Kibbutz Sufa in southern Israel on October 7 last year.
Then fighters of "Islamic Jihad" and another Islamist movement - "Hamas", which controls the Gaza Strip, carried out a surprise bloody attack on Israeli territory, in which nearly 1,200 people were killed, according to Israel.
"Along with Zaarab, two more terrorists from the "Islamic Jihad" who were with him in his operational quarters were eliminated in the strike," the IDF statement added.
