Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokaev discussed issues of bilateral cooperation over the phone, the Kremlin press service reported.
"Some issues of bilateral cooperation and upcoming contacts in various formats were touched upon. A mutual commitment to further strengthening the Russian-Kazakhstan alliance and strategic partnership was confirmed, the announcement said.
Putin also warmly congratulated Tokaev on his birthday.
In addition, the president of the Russian Federation shared with the president of Kazakhstan his impressions after his visit to China, the press service reported.
Putin was on a state visit to China on May 16-17. On May 16 in Beijing at the government residence "Jongnanhai" Talks were held between the Russian leader and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
