Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who is in hospital in Banska Bystrica (Central Slovakia) after an assassination attempt on Wednesday, is in stable condition but still heavy. Citing the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Republic, Robert Kaliniak, this was reported by Slovak Radio.
The Deputy Prime Minister, together with the Minister of Health of Slovakia, made a daily announcement to the media about Fico's state of health. The second operation since Wednesday, which was performed on the Prime Minister on Friday, was successful and his condition improved. "A positive forecast can be expected in the near future. For now, however, its transportation to Bratislava is impossible. The prime minister is conscious”, Kaliniak said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed the opinion that Fico will not undergo additional surgical operations. “Yesterday's successful operation contributed to the fact that the development of the situation with the health of Mr. Prime Minister will be positive,”, he said.
Kalinjak emphasized that Slovakia's government is working as usual and will have two meetings next week.
