US President Joe Biden will have a face-to-face meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris. This will be their first personal discussion since Zelensky's trip to Washington in December last year. During the meeting, President Biden will announce a significant support package for Ukraine, amounting to $225 million in arms aid, dedicated to the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy, BTA reports.

The last time Presidents Biden and Zelensky met, the two were going through a difficult period trying to garner additional support for Ukraine amid some opposition in the US Congress. Their efforts underscore a shared commitment to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in the face of disaster.

The dialogue between the two leaders will continue during the upcoming G-7 meeting in Italy. It is of particular importance as the world's richest nations will discuss using Russian assets that were frozen in response to Russia's invasion to fund a $50 billion aid package for Ukraine.

President Zelensky expressed concern about the pace at which decisions on aid from Western countries are made. His remarks underscore the urgent need for timely and decisive support to ensure Ukraine's stability and sovereignty.
