About a hundred candidates from the left and from the parliamentary majority around the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, refuse to appear in the second round of the parliamentary elections, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.

In 306 constituencies out of a total of 577 across the country, there are three candidates each going to the second round. There are even four candidates in five districts. Of these 311 districts in total, in which there are more than two candidates for the second round, 161 districts lead candidates to the "National Assembly" or their allies.

Among those who refused to appear in the second round at this stage are predominantly representatives of the left "New People's Front". For example, in Normandy, a left-wing candidate dropped out in favor of Macron's former prime minister, Elisabeth Borne. In some cases, candidates from the presidential coalition also refuse.

The aim is to support that candidate who will oppose the remaining tandem of contenders in the respective district against the candidate of the "National Assembly".
