Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made changes to his cabinet. Turkish media reported that Erdogan has decided to replace two of his ministers, BTA reports.

The presidential decree on the appointment of a new Minister of Health and a new Minister of the Environment and Urban Planning has been published in the State Gazette.

The new Minister of Health is Kemal Memisoglu, who replaces the previous Minister Fahrettin Koca.

Mehmet Yozhaseki, who was the Minister of Environment and Urban Planning, was replaced by Murat Kurum.

Kurum held this post from 2018 to 2023. He was also the candidate of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) for mayor of Istanbul in local elections in March.

Koja and Yozhaseki recently submitted their resignations to the president. Yohhaseki motivated his request with health problems.

The governing AKP announced after the local elections, in which the opposition People's Republican Party won, that it has plans to change ministers.
