The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are have regained some of the lost positions near Chasov Yar, but the Russians have achieved territorial success in other sections of the front in the Donetsk region. This is stated in a new report by the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reports RBC-Ukraine.
According to geolocation footage from August 7, the Russian army advanced north of Belogorovka (northeast of Seversk) and northwest of Razdolovka (south of Seversk).
Analysts add that the fighting continued on August 6 and 7:
Northeast of Seversk in the region of Belogorovka;
East of Seversk in the Verkhnekamensky district;
Southeast of Seversk in the region of Ivano-Darievka, Sspornoe and Viemka;
South of Seversk in the region of Perezdni.
At the same time, the VSU regained limited positions near Chasov Yar. Geolocation footage taken on an unspecified date and released on August 7 shows that Ukrainian forces have made little progress across the Seversky Donets-Donbass Canal and have regained some positions in the forested area of Stupki Golubovskie 2.
ISW also adds that the fighting continues:
In the eastern microdistricts of Chasov Yar - Novi and Oktyabrski;
North of Chasov Yar near Orlovo (north of Oktyabruski microdistrict);
East of Chasov Yar near Ivanovskoye.
Russian forces continued ground attacks on Toretsk on August 7, but achieved no confirmed successes.
Several Russian sources repeated the claim that Moscow's troops had advanced into New York, captured almost the entire village and could surround the VSU there. However, ISW has no evidence of Russian success in New York.
