Governor of the Russian border region Belgorod Vyacheslav Gladkov announced state of emergency in the region in connection with the ongoing Ukrainian attacks.
"The situation in Belgorod Oblast remains extremely difficult and tense," Vyacheslav Gladkov explained in a Telegram video message on Wednesday. He reported daily shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces, which destroyed houses and killed and wounded civilians. The measures aim to ensure the safety of the population and deal with the consequences of the attacks.
Due to this situation, a decision was made to introduce a state of emergency at the regional level, but in the entire Belgorod Region. It is effective immediately and has no expiration date.
Vyacheslav Gladkov calls on the government to also declare a federal state of emergency.
A state of emergency was already declared at the regional level and in the Kursk region, from where the offensive of the Ukrainian army on the territory of the Russian Federation began.
A counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced for three regions - Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.
