At least 34 people died today in two bus accidents in Pakistan, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA, referring to the authorities.
Twelve pilgrims died in an accident on a highway in the southwestern part of the country, the Ministry of the Interior announced. A rescue official said 22 people were killed after a bus plunged into a deep gorge in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir in the northeast.
A rescue team coordinator reported that the second bus was carrying 25 passengers, including 6 women and a child. 22 of them died and one was seriously injured.
The Interior Ministry, however, said 29 people lost their lives in the crash.
Interior Minister Moshin Naqvi offered his "heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed in both accidents".
A bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims overturned in central Iran on Wednesday. 28 people died and 23 were injured, notes Reuters.
