Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that the country needs an additional 15 billion dollars to cover its budget deficit for 2025, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
In his words, the country's budget deficit will amount to 35 billion dollars, and there are plans to cover 20 billion of them.
In 2024, Ukraine's budget deficit stood at $38 billion, according to government data.
Shmigal indicated that the authorities envisage tax increases and new loans on the domestic market to replenish the funds needed for the war against Russia. Parliament will discuss these proposals in September.
Ukraine has received $100 billion in financial aid from its partners since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
