Turkey plans to revise the “all inclusive“ in the hotels as part of its strategy to welcome 80 million tourists in 2028, writes today the pro-government newspaper “Turkiye“, quoted by BTA.

According to the publication, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the country intends to give priority to the development of other areas of tourism: gastronomic, cultural and medical.

Mustafa Korkutata from the Association of Young Businessmen in Ankara said that the "all inclusive" has turned into a system of “consumer terror”, “Turkiye“ points out.

According to Korkutta, the calculations show that the percentage of food thrown off the plates in "all inclusive" hotels reaches 65 percent.

220-400 grams of food are thrown away per person per day. In other words, food waste in these hotels costs 50 billion Turkish lira ($1.5 billion) a year, so the number of sites that implement this system should be reduced, he pointed out.

The businessman reported that within the new system, hotels will be able to cooperate with local restaurants. He specified that in the evening the tourists will be taken on walks in the centers of the resort towns and then they will be taken to dinner in restaurants with which contracts have been signed.

With such a system, shop owners will also have more income, added Korkutata.

Representatives of the Turkish tourism industry have previously made numerous proposals to revise the all-inclusive format, including the introduction of a pay-as-you-go model.

Last year, Turkey welcomed 56.7 million tourists. At the end of this year, Turkey is expected to be visited by 60 million tourists.
