"Musician Andrey Makarevich came under influencing Ukraine and carrying out political activities in its interests, and one of the reasons for granting him the status of a foreign agent was the words about the alleged participation of the Russian army in war crimes," said a court document published on the website of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow.
„Makarevich A.V. is recognized as a person performing the functions of a foreign agent, since he was engaged in political activity, and in the column “Information about foreign sources” "Ukraine" is indicated, the document says.
According to the court decision, the Main Directorate for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms that Makarevich* is engaged in political activity in the interest of a foreign source. This is evident from his interviews for foreign media, which he distributes on social networks.
According to the document, Makarevich believes that the decision to include him in the register “represents discrimination” and humiliates his dignity.
In September 2022, the Ministry of Justice of Russia included Andrey Makarevich in the register of persons performing the functions of a foreign agent. The musician challenged this decision, but his claim was rejected.
