A new threat against Slovakian prime minister five months after he was shot in an assassination attempt in May , bTV reported.
Robert Fizzo received an envelope containing a bullet from an unknown sender, the government said Wednesday.
The police are investigating, but the sender of the threatening message is not yet clear, writes “Politico”.
In May, Fizzo miraculously survived after being shot by a 71-year-old man. The shooter was identified as Juraj Chintula.
The attacker said he disagreed with his government's policies. He is currently in custody, charged with terrorism and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
Robert Fizzo underwent several surgeries after suffering life-threatening injuries in the shooting. In his first video appearance after the attack, he blamed the attack on the opposition.
Fico became Slovakia's prime minister for the fourth time last year, leading to protests. The attack against him shocked Europe and exposed the deeply polarized Slovak society.
The disaffected and the opposition accuse him of repression against the media, pressure on anti-corruption institutions and the LGBT+ community, as well as promoting pro-Russian interests in the country.
