Authorities in Berlin are preparing for possible clashes in the German capital ahead of the anniversary of the attack by "Hamas" against Israel on October 7, DPA reported.
Many rallies, demonstrations and other events are scheduled for the weekend in Berlin and throughout the country, which prompted the authorities to organize a large-scale police operation to preserve the peace, BTA explains.
The police union said it expected a "dynamic situation across the city" in the capital.
Separately, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), which is responsible for domestic intelligence, warned of an increase in anti-Israel and anti-Semitic protests.
"The current situation holds great potential for emotionalization, polarization and radicalization, even for hitherto moderate participants," said the head of the service, Thomas Haldenwang. According to his organization, the protests are likely to be concentrated in Berlin.
In the capital, pro-Palestinian demonstrators plan to pass from the "Tempelhof" through "Kreuzberg" to the Brandenburg Gate today at 15:00 local time.
The motto of the march is "One year of genocide - and the world is watching. Against police violence".
A counter-protest with the motto "We are with Israel and the police" was also registered. In addition, a pro-Israel protest march with the motto "Against anti-Israeli police violence" will be held.
Tomorrow, pro-Palestinian groups will again demonstrate against Israeli attacks, this time marching from "Kreuzberg" to the neighborhood of "Neukölln". At the same time, supporters of Israel will gather at the Brandenburg Gate and on the "Bebelplatz" square.
A mourning vigil is also planned in memory of the numerous victims of the war. Larger rallies against anti-Semitism have also been announced for this day in Stuttgart and Munich.
