German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock defined the attack by the Palestinian movement “Hamas” against Israel for a key moment in both Jewish and German history, and also stated that she is ashamed of the anti-Semitic attacks that are taking place in the streets of Germany, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
In an article for today's edition of the newspaper “Bild am Sonntag“ Berbock stated that the October 7 massacre of “Hamas” divides times, for both Jews and Germans, into “before and after”.
She expressed dismay that since then Jews, including in Germany, have felt less safe and that anti-Semitic attacks have increased, and that this week's Iranian missile attack on Israel has been celebrated on German streets.

„We oppose this with the full force of the law”, Berbok stressed.
The foreign minister added that Israel's security is part of Germany's national interests.
„Israel has the right to self-defense against the violence of “Hamas”, as well as against the missile terror of Iran and “Hezbollah”, she added.
On October 7, terrorists from the Palestinian Islamist group “Hamas” and other extremist organizations killed more than 1,200 people in Israel and kidnapped about 250 others as hostages in the Gaza Strip. This became the cause of the Gaza War, in which approximately 42,000 Palestinians have been killed so far according to the “Hamas“ health authorities, with about a third of them children and young people.
In recent weeks, the conflict between Israel and the Iranian-backed Lebanese Shia group “Hezbollah” also escalated. There are fears that the entire region could be drawn into a catastrophic war.
