Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said today that his country should participate in all negotiations to settle the crisis in Ukraine, world agencies reported .
A video clip of part of his statement was shared on "Telegram" from the "Pul Pervogo" account close to the presidential press service.
"Because this is our problem, I don't want it to be solved there - our problem - without us", the leader of Belarus emphasized, quoted by TASS.
Lukashenko, who is a close ally of Moscow, allowed Russian President Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine from Belarusian territory in February 2022 and subsequently deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, Reuters notes.
No peace talks are currently on the cards as Russia applies pressure with its offensive operations in Ukraine, while also trying to push back Ukrainian forces that swept across the border into western Russia in August. This week, Ukraine presented its own plan for victory.
