Yulia Navalnaya stated in an interview with the BBC that she intends to become the president of Russia. The widow of the late Alexei Navalny confirmed that she will continue her husband's fight for democracy and human rights in the country, quoted by BNT.

"When the right moment comes, I will participate in the elections. My political opponent is Vladimir Putin, and I will do everything possible to end his regime as soon as possible," stressed Yulia Navalnaya.

She added that while Putin is in power, she will not be able to return to Russia, but she looks forward to the day when the Putin era ends and the country reopens. According to her, this moment is inevitable.

Like her husband, Yulia Navalnaya believes that free and fair elections will be held in Russia. Alexei Navalny, Vladimir Putin's most outspoken critic, was sentenced to 19 years in prison on extremism charges believed to be politically motivated. He died in February in a high-security penal colony behind the Arctic Circle.

"Our country is ruled by a liar, a thief and a murderer, but this will stop", added Yulia Navalnaya
