Magazine “National Geographic“ (National Geographic) publishes the best destinations in the world, with the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sarajevo named the best destination according to readers' choice.
„It's official: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the best destination in the world according to readers' choice”, the publication wrote on its “Instagram” profile.
"With centuries of history woven into its natural beauty, it's no wonder this cosmopolitan capital is so beloved, the magazine says. Plan your visit to sample the offerings of the local markets, stroll along the Milyatska River and soak up the amazing views this city has to offer," the magazine added.
Among the first to react to the news was the mayor of Sarajevo, Benyamina Karic, who invited on her “Facebook” tourists from all over the world.
„My dear fellow citizens, let us be, as always, the best hosts and welcome guests from all over the world with open arms! (…) Welcome!“, Karic wrote on the social network.
Among the finalists for the best destination of the “National Geographic“ there were also cities such as Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, New Orleans in the USA, Bodrum in Turkey and Cusco in Peru, notes the Balkan editorial of “Al Jazeera”.
