Jeff Bezos with his strangest decision regarding the election of the President of the United States - 1

For the first time in decades, the major American newspaper "Washington Post" ; will not officially endorse a candidate in the race for the White House, public radio announced. According to CNN, the decision, dictated by the owner Jeff Bezos, caused a huge dissatisfaction among the staff.

"Washington Post" will not support a candidate either in this election or in future presidential races, and thus returns to its roots. That's according to a statement from publisher Will Lewis.

The paper is considered one of the flagships of liberal political thought, and its editorial positions are often aligned with those of the Democratic Party. According to CNN, journalists at the paper had already drafted a position paper supporting Kamala Harris in the upcoming vote in 10 days, which had to be approved by the governing board.

However, the final decision was made by billionaire and newspaper owner Jeff Bezos, sources told the US news channel. It has already led to the departure of one of the senior editors, Robert Kagan, according to whom the founder of "Amazon" is doing Republican nominee Donald Trump a personal favor given his possible victory on November 5.

Marty Beron, another former editor at "Post" described the decision as "cowardice whose victim is democracy"

Trump has been highly critical of both the paper and Amazon, which Berron and Kagan said prompted Bezos to make a gesture of reconciliation. 13 of the media columnists described the decision as a "terrible mistake"

During the week, the owner of another of America's major newspapers, the Los Angeles Times, also blocked an editorial line in support of Harris. And there, Patrick Sun-Shion's decision led to the resignation of the main editors.
