The Israeli army has announced that it has lost five soldiers in Lebanon, reported France Press, quoted by BTA.

At least eight people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese city of Saida, the Ministry of Health said, as quoted by Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA).

The Israeli army said initially, quoted by DPA, that four reservists aged between 29 and 43 died fighting against "Hezbollah" in southern Lebanon. Five Israeli soldiers were wounded.

She subsequently confirmed the death of another soldier. He served in the same battalion as the four reservists killed, the Israeli army said, quoted by AFP.

She gave no further details.

According to the Israeli army, it has lost a total of 770 soldiers since the beginning of the wars in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon respectively against the Iran-backed "Hamas" movements. and "Hezbollah", DPA points out.

AFP notes that 37 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the start of the ground operation in Lebanon on September 30 alone.

Two people were slightly injured in northern Israel during a drone attack on an aircraft parts factory, DPA reported.

The unmanned aerial vehicle, launched according to the Israeli army by "Hezbollah", was intercepted as it entered the country's airspace, but nevertheless crashed into the factory building in the town of Bar Lev.

Last night, the Lebanese movement called on residents of more than 20 Israeli settlements to evacuate immediately, arguing that these settlements are now "legitimate targets" because the Israeli army has bases there.

"Hezbollah" issued such a warning for the first time since the beginning of the conflict more than a year ago, DPA notes.

Today, the Lebanese movement announced, quoted by AFP, that it had attacked several sites in northern Israel with rockets and drones.

At least eight people were killed and 25 wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the city of Saida, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported in the meantime, as quoted by NNA.

The statement contains no details.

At least 1,620 people have been killed in Lebanon in more than a month of fighting, according to an AFP tally based on official figures.

Only yesterday, according to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, 19 people died and 108 were injured.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is "shocked by the appalling number of casualties, injuries and destruction in the north” in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli army continues its operations, its spokesman said today, AFP reported, quoted by BTA.

"The plight of Palestinian civilians trapped in the northern Gaza Strip is unbearable," he said in a statement, describing "civilians buried under rubble, sick and wounded, deprived of vital health care, and families deprived of food and shelter".

Israeli military strikes today killed at least 45 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of them in the northern part of the enclave, Palestinian health officials said, Reuters reported.

This comes amid renewed efforts to achieve a ceasefire. The directors of the CIA and Israel's Mossad intelligence agency will meet with Qatar's prime minister in Doha today, an official briefed on the talks told Reuters. They will seek a short-term ceasefire and the release of some hostages held by Hamas, in exchange for Israel releasing Palestinian prisoners, the official said. It is not clear whether a representative of Egypt will attend the negotiations.

The goal of the negotiations is Israel and "Hamas" to agree to a cessation of hostilities for less than a month in the hope that this will lead to a more permanent ceasefire.

From "Hamas" had no immediate comment, but a Palestinian official close to the mediation effort told Reuters: "I expect "Hamas" will listen to the new proposals, but the movement continues to hold that any agreement must end the war and withdraw Israeli forces from Gaza.

Today, the Israeli military said it had killed more than 40 militants in the Jabalia area in the past 24 hours, as well as destroying infrastructure and finding large quantities of military equipment, Reuters reported.
