A small plane with German registration crashed near the capital of Moldova, The Associated Press reports. The fatal accident took place on October 27 in the small town of Vadul lui Voda, located about 23 kilometers east of Chisinau, as quoted by News.bg.
There were no passengers on board the downed Socata TB20; the pilot was the only one on board. The causes of the incident are under investigation.
According to the local authorities, the plane burst into flames after hitting the ground. Emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire.
The pilot, unfortunately, was killed. According to initial information, he is a prominent German businessman who headed a joint German-Moldovan company.
