US President-elect Donald Trump plans to initiate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine on his first day in office, the Associated Press reported. During his campaign, Trump repeatedly said he could end the war in 24 hours, and his press secretary Caroline Leavitt confirmed that peace talks are a top priority for his administration, as cited by Focus.
"Trump's first day in the White House will include putting Ukraine and Russia on the negotiating table to find a solution to end this war," Leavitt pointed out.
Among Trump's other major tasks for his first days in the White House are launching a massive deportation of migrants, changing the education policies of the Joe Biden administration and reorganizing federal institutions, through which he plans to lay off thousands of employees he sees as disloyal. Additionally, Trump has announced his intention to pardon those involved in the January 6, 2021 storming of the Capitol.
