US President Donald Trump warned that he is not considering the possibility of another delay in the entry into force of trade tariffs.
“I am not thinking about a pause. I will write letters to many countries. I think you are just beginning to understand the process“, Trump told reporters when asked if he intended to postpone the July 9 deadline for tariffs.
He hinted that the United States would not be able to conclude a trade agreement with Japan. According to him, this and other countries "have been spoiled by robbing the American country for 30 or 40 years, so it's very difficult to negotiate with them."
“So what I'm going to do is write them a letter and say we appreciate you very much, but if you can't do what we want, you're going to pay 30%, 35%, whatever we decide," Trump continued.
“They may be happy, they may not be, but we're not going to let some countries trade. In most cases, we're just going to call a number - it's that simple,“ he concluded.
