At least 11 workers were taken to hospitals and residents were urged to evacuate Tuesday after an explosion at an enterprise in Louisville, Kentucky, reported the Associated Press, quoted by BTA.
Media reported that neighbors heard what sounded like an explosion coming from a facility manufacturing soft drink ingredients. News footage shows an industrial building with a large hole in the roof.
"At this point, the cause of the explosion is unknown," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said. He added that no one was killed in the explosion.
Greenberg said authorities have spoken with employees at the facility. "Initially they reported that everything was in normal operation when the explosion occurred," he said.
The Louisville Fire Department said on the X social network that multiple departments were responding to a "major incident."
