The scene unfolded as Janja, as the Brazilian president's wife is also known, was speaking to an audience about the need to regulate social media to curb misinformation. The first lady's speech was interrupted at one point by a strange hum. "I think it's Elon Musk," she said. "I'm not afraid of you, fuck you, Elon Musk", added the wife of the Brazilian president.
In response, Musk, who is the owner of the social network "X", published on his profile a post with an emoticon LOL (laughing out loud, which means I laugh out loud – note ed.). "They are going to lose the next election," Musk later added in another post, referring to Janja and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Earlier this year, Brazil's Supreme Court suspended access to "X" for one month on the grounds that the owner company does not have a legal representative in the country and that it ignores court decisions to block accounts spreading "fake news" and hate speech.
