Pope Francis sent a congratulatory message to Donald Trump on the occasion of his upcoming inauguration as the 47th president of the United States, in which he urged him to work for peace and build a society without hatred, discrimination and exclusion, quoted by BTA.
"Congratulations on your inauguration as president of the United States. My prayers accompany you, I pray that Almighty God will grant you wisdom, strength and protection in the fulfillment of your duties," the message states.
"With shared inspiration from the ideals of your nation, which represents opportunity and acceptance for all, I hope that your leadership will lead to the well-being of the American people and will stimulate the construction of a just society in which there is no place for hatred or discrimination."
"The world is facing serious challenges, including wars. We pray that God will guide your efforts in promoting peace and reconciliation among peoples. With these wishes of divine blessings for you, your family and the well-being of the American people," the Pope concluded.
