„Naturally we do not support sanctions. But we will not be a country that will bypass the sanctions, as, first of all, they will hit the economy of Kazakhstan very hard, said Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin in a comment to VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, answering a question about the negotiations with Western partners on sanctions.
Jumangarin noted that there are industries in the country whose products are included in the sanctions lists. “Regarding these goods, that we will not make any restrictions. Because behind this we have large labor collectives, sometimes entire single-industry towns, where these production facilities are located,”, he said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to Kazakhstan on November 27-28.
