US President Joe Biden announced today that Israel and the radical Palestinian group "Hamas" have reached an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of hostages, which will end the fighting and will lead to a sharp increase in the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Before him, his successor in the White House, Donald Trump, did this on his social network "Truth Social".
"Today, after months of intensive diplomatic efforts by the United States, along with Egypt and Qatar, Israel and "Hamas" have reached an agreement on a ceasefire and for the hostages. "This agreement will stop the fighting in Gaza, increase much-needed humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians and reunite hostages with their families after 15 months of captivity," Biden said, adding that he had "outlined the outlines of this agreement."
An official from the radical Palestinian group Hamas told Reuters that the ceasefire agreement reached with Israel on Tuesday in the Gaza Strip was "a great achievement that embodies the legend created by the steadfastness of Gaza, its people and the bravery of its resistance."
"It is also confirmation that the occupier has failed to achieve any of its goals," Sami Abu Zahri told Reuters today.
