Former advisor to Zaluzhny: Ukraine will be forced to reduce the mobilization age from 25 to 21 years - 1

Ukraine will be forced to reduce the mobilization age from 25 to 21 years, said the former advisor to the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, Major General Viktor Nazarov.

"I do not support this thesis that we should mobilize from the age of 18, as our partners are pushing us. But at least from the age of 21, we will probably have to do it," he said in an interview with the Ukrainian department of the BBC.

According to him, Ukraine will have to come to the point of reducing the mobilization age in one way or another.

Recently, the issue of reducing the mobilization age to 18 years has been increasingly raised in Ukraine, which is being insisted on, in particular, by the United States. According to MP Artem Dmytruk, who managed to leave the country, such a bill has already been developed, and Zelensky's cabinet is throwing the topic into the information space to test the reaction of the population.

The Ukrainian authorities have already lowered the mobilization age once - until April 2024, men from 27 to 60 years old were subject to military service, now - from 25. At the same time, the Ukrainian army continues to experience a shortage of personnel.
