Argentine President Javier Milley was escorted from a public event by his security guards in the Buenos Aires area after protesters threw stones and other objects at his car, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The president was standing in the back of a moving pickup truck with security guards and his sister Karin, who is also his chief of staff, as he campaigned for upcoming local and midterm elections.
Some people in the crowd began throwing objects, with at least one stone hitting the hood of the vehicle.
The pickup truck moved away from the crowd, which was chanting anti-government chants such as “Get out, Milley“.
The speaker Milley's spokesman, Manuel Adorni, stated on the social network “Ex“ that members of the opposition had “attacked“ the president and that no one was injured.
Several people in Milley's inner circle, including his sister, are currently embroiled in a corruption scandal related to alleged bribery at Argentina's agency for the disabled.
Milley's motorcade moved through the streets of Lomas de Zamora in Buenos Aires province, which is traditionally a bastion of the Peronist opposition movement.
