BMW showed the new X3

The company still does not part with the camouflage

BMW is preparing to unveil the successor to the X3, and the official unveiling is just a few weeks away. Ahead of the big debut, enthusiasts can enjoy a sneak peek of what's to come. Camouflaged prototypes show both plug-in hybrid and M Performance variants.

The new X3 is rumored to undergo a name change, with the "M40i" likely to give way to the "M50" designation. This change marks BMW's departure from the long-standing tradition of using the suffix "i" for designation on gasoline models. However, the diesel variants will retain the "d" designation, while the plug-in hybrids will continue to be designated with the "e".

Internally called the "G45", the 2025 BMW X3 boasts a sleeker design under its camouflage. With a reduced drag coefficient and widened track, the new X3 promises improved aerodynamics and handling. Inside, drivers can expect a simplified dashboard layout with touch-sensitive controls and the latest safety technologies.

Looking ahead, BMW has plans for a special electric version of the X3 that will debut next year on the Neue Klasse platform. Previewed by the recent Vision Neue Klasse X concept, this electric crossover promises a revolutionary design and advanced features tailored to the electric future.
