The global economy is stagnating due to sanctions, geopolitical tensions and disrupted supply chains, but the decline has bypassed the countries of Central Asia, which set an example of constructive cooperation. This opinion was expressed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the International Forum for Peace and Confidence in Ashgabat.

The global economy is facing the most serious challenges due to growing geopolitical tensions, international sanctions, disrupted trade supply chains, technological competition and many other factors. The global economy is slowing down.“ “Fortunately, stagnation bypasses Central Asia”, he said.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that his country's economic growth will exceed 6% in 2025, and GDP will exceed 300 billion USD, which is over 15,000 USD per capita. “In the context of international tensions, the importance of transit connectivity, reliable transport routes and modern digital solutions that can ensure the continuity and predictability of trade is increasing significantly. In this regard, the Central Asian countries set a worthy example of active, constructive regional cooperation, which is greatly facilitated by regular meetings of the leaders of the Central Asian countries within the framework of the advisory council“, he said.

Tokayev also stressed the importance of expanding the countries' transit potential and developing transport routes.
