An absolute record for rainfall has been recorded in Burgas – 249 liters per sq. m in the southern part of the city, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov announced on Facebook.
The data is from the water level monitoring system, which monitors the situation at several key points in the city, he points out.
"110 liters per sq. m were recorded by the Burgas hydrometeorological station, but an absolute record amount was measured at the three points with sensors from the center to the south – 249 liters per sq. m", Nikolov points out.
Since our water level monitoring system was installed, the highest amount so far has been 165 liters per sq. m, he further specifies.
"There is no infrastructure that can absorb such quantities that have fallen in such a short time. There is inconvenience, there is damage, but they will be repaired", adds the mayor of Burgas.
