The GERB-SDF party is ready with the draft state budget and it will soon be submitted for discussion in the plenary hall, confirmed MP Toma Bikov on the air of “Wake up“ on NOVA. He specified that there will be no changes in the composition of the Council of Ministers, and the formation is preparing for a full governing mandate.
“For ten months, we have been three coalition partners, and we have benefited from different supports on separate topics. In recent days, it was formulated that these three parties will continue with this coalition. The colleagues from “DPS-New Beginning&rdash; stated that they will support the government, but will not participate in it. This is not some radical change“, said Bikov.
“In recent years, GERB-SDF has been treated, especially after the 2023 merger, as a platform for implementing the priorities of other parties. Borisov's entire statement that he does whatever Peevski tells him was precisely a criticism of this attitude – to the idea that formations are trying to fulfill their goals through GERB“, said Bykov.
He emphasized that GERB is the first political force and most of the priorities should be implemented by it.
Bykov stated that he is not participating in the negotiations to replace the Speaker of the National Assembly, but believes that the rotation principle can work.
„We propose that each parliamentary formation have its own candidate for Speaker for a term of one year, and in the fourth year the post can again be occupied by Ms. Kiselova. The idea is not related to early elections or the "house book". I don't think that the Speaker of Parliament is a position that can radically change the structure“, explained the MP.
Regarding the US sanctions against “Lukoil“, Bykov commented that the situation is complicated, but the state is ready to react.
“The blow from the sanctions complicates the situation, but we are ready to meet the challenge. I hope that it does not reach extreme situations. An analysis must be made of how much we can bear the effect of the sanctions, and if necessary – we will ask for assistance“, he pointed out.
The MP added that the National Security Agency should check whether an unknown company will appear that will turn out to be the new owner of “Lukoil“.
When asked whether a price increase is expected and whether there will be a problem with payments at gas stations, Bykov assured that the government is ready to react.
“We have the potential to deal with this risk as well. However, I hope that it will not reach a point where citizens will be faced with such difficulties“, he said.
