This morning, the co-chairs of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev and Bozhidar Bozanov bowed before the Turkyan fountain and paid tribute to the victims of the so-called “Revival Process”.

“We bow before all those repressed and humiliated by the forced change of names, before the victims of the so-called “Revival Process” — one of the darkest pages in the history of Bulgaria, which marked the lives of Muslims, deprived of a name, a voice and the right to be themselves,“ said Ivaylo Mirchev on social networks.

According to Mirchev, the death of little Türkyan, the youngest victim of the totalitarian regime, has become a symbol — tragic, painful and eternal. “She reminds us that human rights are not alms, but a right. That identity cannot be erased by force. That human dignity cannot be shot. At Türkyan Fountain we also honor resistance — the refusal to accept that you can be deprived of a name, faith, language and equality“, said Mirchev.

Today we pay tribute to the victims of the “Revival Process” and we bow before the dignity and pain of the Bulgarians of Turkish origin who fought for freedom and democracy. "Renaissance process", "great excursion" and similar euphemisms conceal the true face of the totalitarian regime that even killed babies like Turkian. We must ensure that this cannot happen again. And that no one will impose divisions for political purposes", said Bozhidar Bozhanov.
