Given the social and political anxiety created as a result of the spread of fake news and populist comments, the investor Trade League is giving up the establishment to a pediatric ward and changed the name of the hospital. The government's decision can only be edited in this sense. This was announced by the investor company regarding the establishment of a private children's hospital in a letter to the media.
"The decision of the government of April 30 of this year for the establishment of a general hospital in Sofia with only 40 pediatric beds is legal and correct. Neither the project nor the decision for the new hospital has the goal of creating some kind of “national private children's hospital”.
We remind the entire Bulgarian public that in Bulgaria there is a high general and record high child mortality, and investments in health care are crucial for the exit from the demographic crisis and the survival of the nation.
We categorically and clearly confirm our unreserved support for the construction of a real national state children's hospital and that the creation of a modern multi-specialty hospital in Sofia, without a pediatric department, does not change this principled position of ours," the company writes.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev ordered the cancellation of yesterday's decision to create the “Multispecialty hospital for active treatment “Mom and Me“ in the city of Sofia. The government press service announced that if the report on the cancellation of the decision is not submitted today by the Minister of Health, Prime Minister Glavchev will propose to President Rumen Radev that the Minister of Health Galya Kondeva be relieved of her post, the government press service reports.
