I had said in an interview that I have no intention of running again for director of “Pirogov”. But with what has turned out, and the support of a large part of the hospital staff, I will enter this race. The hospital calmed down, we continued to develop in the right way. All the checks came out with all the ridiculous accusations by the former health minister. This was announced by the director of “Pirogov” Dr. Valentin Dimitrov to BNT, quoted by novini.bg.

„I am not a political person. I got political support and it was flattering to my ego because I got it without looking for it. You will not see me in any paper, at any rally,”, he is categorical.

He emphasized that “Pirogov” is an institution: “Everyone spits on him, but when there is a need, the first thing that comes to mind is “Pirogov”. The public attitude is formed there, it is a pillar of health care. We do not have a single lev overdue, salaries are paid on time and have been increased.”
„In „Pirogov” more than 81,000 children pass as patients, 10,000 children are hospitalized, and in an emergency of them – 7,000. Children's healthcare needs a comprehensive strategy, but so far no one has come forward to explain to the people what the National Children's Hospital development strategy is. The building fund does not make the hospital, it is made by the doctors, specialists, orderlies, all the staff,”, Dr. Dimitrov emphasized.

He supports the National Children's Hospital project. “If we have a vision and the right vision, there are no obstacles for it not to happen.”

For the hospitalized 14-year-old child with severe alcohol poisoning, he commented: "There is no danger to the child's life. We'll keep it for a while longer. There will be no lasting effects on him."
